The Underground is first and foremost, a circle of friends. We actually like each other, and we share the conviction that life goes better with friends. We also share the conviction that cultivating both inward self-discovery and getting outside of ourselves are necessary elements of the complete human experience. LOVE demands that we look both to our own well-being and the well-being of others to help the world become a better, more human place to live.
non-profit
The Underground is also a 501(c)3 non-profit organization quietly and creatively impacting the world for good from our top-secret lair deep within the hollow mountain (ok, that last part might be stretching it a bit, but the rest is true).
cause & consciousness
We call the Underground a spiritual community (consciousness) because we are each engaged in an ever-awakening journey through the human adventure. We are also a humanitarian community (cause) because the wellspring of an awakened humanity must always flow beyond itself toward others.
Our law is love. Our creed is kindness.
If you can handle that, you belong here.
We each bring our own interests and resources, strengths and weaknesses, wisdom and personal baggage. We relate together and risk together. We experiment, explore and create together. We listen, coach, counsel and mentor, laugh and cry, feast and fast, succeed and fail, instigate and celebrate together.
Why? Because we want to.
cause creates community
The Underground is not so much one large circle of relationships as it is a number of smaller circles that interconnect organically when engaged in common goals. Cause creates community.
There’s only one good reason to join the Underground, and it’s the same as our only requirement ... that you want to. Not that you “should” want to, but that you actually want to. If you’re ready, so are we.
